Reflections of Christ Another Testament
Tonight I am spending my time watching "Reflections of Christ, Another Testament" I first discovered these when my companion was given the "Reflections of Christ" Cd. The first song on the CD isn't so great, but the rest of them were wonderful. I think this CD is the one I logged in the most hours listening to on my mission. My favorite being the second to the last song "Nearer My God to Thee" When we were transferred, I was sad to not only lose my companion, but also that CD. Several months later I was able to go back to springs and buy the CD and the local LDS store. Once again I had the opportunity to listen to it as often as my companions would let me.
Then several months later I was transferred to Alamosa. I had an inspired bishop who planned out a beautiful singles ward FHE. "Another Testament of Christ" had just been released. He invited us come into the chapel and we watched this beautiful movie. I cannot express how moved and touched I was. Within the first fifteen minutes I was transported into the world of 3rd Nephi in the Book of Mormon. I was there when the Savior descended from the Heavens, when he proclaimed "I am the light and the life of the world" I was there when he invited the people to "Arise and come forth unto me, and thrust your hands into my side and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know I am the God of Isreal, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world." I was there. I felt the prints in his hands and his feet. I was that person in that picture wrapping my arms around the Savior and feeling His embrace. I was on my knees bowing, kissing his feet. I was there with my Lord, and my God. He became real to me in a way he never had before. What a gift that was.
Tonight I watch it again, and those feelings come back to me. While the person that plays the Savior isn't the Lord, something is always missing from any man, any painting, any sculpture of the Savior, something about this brought the Savior to me. I am so blessed to have the restored gospel in my life. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to draw near unto the Savior. As was mentioned in today's sunday school lesson James 4:8 "draw near unto God and he will draw nigh unto you" I am so blessed. I know that Jesus is the Christ. He was slain for my sins, and was resurrected. He paid the price for me. I also know he appeared to the people on the American Continent. What is taught in the Book of Mormon is true. I know it. I also know His church is on the earth today, it is lead by Him and though his power. I know he loves me, and that all of us can develop a personal relationship with Him. It's true.
