Cursed!

I do believe its time for an update.  Things are going well.  School is ok.  I feel like things are kind of sneaking up on me and suddenly its time to get my butt in gear and study for a quiz, or complete an assignment.  I'm not super stressed, just kind of feel off balance and maybe a step behind.  There are alot of projects this semester.  Something I'm not a huge fan of.  Some of them I'm having a hard time grasping why we need to do them.  It feels kind of like busy work.  I hate busy work.  I don't mind doing stuff if it's productive, but some stuff just doesn't really feel like it will benefit me in the future.  Oh well.  You kinda have to play the game to get the degree.  That's the way life goes.

I'm beginning to think I'm cursed. So I was using Jer's computer because it seems to hold the internet slightly better than either of my computers.  Which leads to less cursings of the computer.  Which is probably good.  I closed the lid and went to put it on the ground and it slipped.  Of all the places for it to land, it had to land on the power cord.  Which then busted the jack that power goes in.  A computer is useless without the jack.  We were looking at $150 to replace it, if it hadn't cracked the motherboard.  Great.  So much for extra tax return money.  No one could tell us if the power jack was soddered to the motherboard.  You'd think they could look that up.  So we were looking at spending money just to get them to open it up and see.  Well we know Jeremy, and he decided to find out himself.  So we spent $2 and got some screwdrivers, and he opened it up.  Turns out the power jack had just popped out of place and just needed to be snapped in.  Computer fix.  Glory be.

But that wasn't whats made me think I'm cursed. So for an assignment we had to rent a piece of adaptive equipment. I rented the readingpen 2.  Its a nifty little device that scans text and can tell you how to say the work and the definition of it.  And as I was testing it out.... I dropped it.  And yes it dropped on the one bad spot for it to land.  On the little scanner.  So we're up there doing a presentation with a reading pen that's only halfway working.  So much for a good grade on the assignment. I brought it back to enablemart.  It doesn't look like they will make me pay for it, so that's a relief.  But I still think  I'm cursed.  Two things dropped in the one worst spot in like the past two weeks!  Whats next?  These things come in threes you know.

I also do have a bit of fun news.  A few months ago I had a friend invite us to go on a cruise with them to hawaii.  They mentioned that they were going to use their tax return and that we should come to.  So this put in our brains that maybe we should do that too.  Well we  did our taxes and found out that we were getting almost 3,000 back from the government.  Wow.  That was quite the surprise.  Well the cruise fell through, which was too bad, it would have been alot of fun.  But we still wanted to go somewhere, now that the idea is planted in our heads. So we decided to go to Puerto Rico, on the honeymoon we never had.  If you want the whole story about that go here. It's a long one.  The tax refund came through today and ironically the prices on priceline were the lowest they've been in three weeks.  So I just bought the tickets.  Exciting!  It will be quite the adventure.  It doesn't quite feel real yet that we're going. But there's a countdown on the desktop of Jer's computer.  My goal is to survive school for that long.  We're going over spring break, and once I get done with spring break, school should be on the downhill side. YES!  I hope to come back with a tan!

Other than that, can't say much more has happened.  Life just keeps plugging along.  School mostly.  Jeremy has Sunday's off now so thats a special treat to have that day together.  Overall life is good.  This has been one of the best winters I've had in a long time.  That makes me happy
